In an inspiring and grand celebration on the 7th of September, the Rotary Club of Benin Ekenhuan Icons made history with the installation of their 2nd President, Rtn. Evelyn Nekpen Imode, along with the induction of the Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 “Magical Rotary Year.” The event, held at the prestigious Madonna Hall inside St. Paul Catholic Church on Airport Road, Benin City, was a vibrant gathering of Rotary dignitaries, family, and friends.
Attendees included a distinguished array of Club Presidents from across Edo State, Past District Governor (PDG) Ikponmwosa, Past Assistant Governor (PAG) Jeff Odiahi, the Club’s Assistant Governor Magreth Odigie, and the Immediate Past President (IPP) Rtn. Ralph Irorerhe. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and celebration as the high point of the event unfolded with the induction of five new members into the Rotary family.
Awards of Excellence were presented to surviving chapter members, recognizing their unwavering resilience and support that has brought the club to its current height. Special accolades were given to PAG Percy Okojie and PAG Jeff Odiahi for their leadership and dedication, standing tall in guiding the club to fruition. The evening also saw passionate tributes and an Award of Excellence bestowed upon the Charter President, whose commitment and vision as the first president laid the foundation for the club’s success.
In her address, the newly installed “Digital President” Rtn. Evelyn Nekpen Imode, who was recently appointed as the Edo State Coordinator of the Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP), urged all clubs present to collaborate on impactful projects. She emphasized the need for unity in achieving the objectives of Rotary International, reaffirming her commitment to leading with passion and purpose throughout this “Magical Rotary Year.”
